Julio E. Ibarra, PhD – He is the Assistant Vice President for Technology Augmented Research at Florida International University (FIU), where he focuses on furthering the mission of the Center for Internet Augmented Research and Assessment (CIARA) – to contribute to the pace and the julio_ibarraquality of research at FIU through the application of advanced Cyberinfrastructure. He is responsible for strategic planning and development of advanced research networking services, including the development and management of the AMPATH International Exchange Point for Research and Education networks. He is Principal Investigator of several NSF grants, including the Americas Lightpaths (AmLight) project (Award #ACI-0963053), FlowSurge (Award #ACI-1246185), OpenWave (Award #ACI-1341895), Secure Access For Everyone (SAFE) (Award #ACI-1440728), and SwitchOn – Exploring and Strengthening U.S.-Brazil Collaborations (Award #NSF-1443285).

Julio E. Ibarra, PhD – é vice-presidente assistente de Pesquisa em Tecnologia Aumentada na Universidade Internacional da Flórida (FIU), onde concentra-se em promover a missão do Center for Internet Augmented Research and Assessment (CIARA) – contribuindo para o ritmo e a qualidade da pesquisa na FIU, através da aplicação de Ciberinfraestruturas avançadas. É responsável pelo planejamento estratégico e desenvolvimento de serviços de redes de pesquisa avançadas, incluindo o desenvolvimento e a gestão do Ampath Internacional –  Ponto de Troca de redes de investigação e educação. É o principal pesquisador de várias bolsas da NSF, incluindo o projeto Americas Lightpaths (AmLight) (Prêmio # ACI-0963053), FlowSurge (Prêmio # ACI-1246185), OpenWave (Prêmio # ACI-1341895), Secure Access For Everyone (SAFE) (Prêmio # ACI-1440728), e SwitchOn – Explorando e fortalecimento Brasil-EUA de Colaborações (Prêmio # NSF-1443285).
